Authentic Danish hygge

Kerteminde is an old fishing port, a fact that becomes very obvious when you explore the town.

The old fishing harbour

The old fishing harbour lies to the south of the entrance to the port. Early in the mornings, you can still see characteristic light blue fishing boats arriving to bring their catches ashore.

At the end of the harbour lies the new yacht harbour with its quaint small beach huts. If all that sea air has given you an appetite, you can enjoy a fillet of fish, salmon and other seafood delicacies at Boris Fiskehus. At the end of the day, a dip in the sea at Sydstranden (South Beach) is a great idea. South Beach is next to the yacht harbour.

A busy marina

Kerteminde Marina is large and modern. It is a hive of activity during the summer months. Exciting events and sports meetings are held here every year. Sail Extreme and The Danish Beach Volley Championships are popular with the crowds.

The Renaissance Port

At the end of Kerteminde’s cosy shopping street lies the new Renaissance Port. The port buzzes with activity in the summer. People come here to relax and absorb the atmosphere on the pretty, wooden terraces. Some soak up the sun, and enjoy a picnic or a glass of wine while other younger, more active people dive off Langebro.

Everything within easy reach

The town, the beach, the marina and the port are interconnected in Kerteminde. Ideal conditions for the holidaymaker who wishes to have everything within easy reach. From your holiday home in Sommerbyen or your holiday apartment at Kerteminde Byferie, you can walk along the promenade at Nordstranden (North Beach), and stroll past the marina to the cosy, historical centre of the town and the harbour.
